McLean’s Mountain is a 2,000-hectare wind farm project on Manitoulin Island. Northland has been collecting wind data from multiple meteorological towers on the site since 2003.

In 2011, Northland signed a development agreement with Mnidoo Mnising Power, a corporation formed by the United Chiefs and Councils of Mnidoo Mnising that includes the McLean’s Mountain project.

The McLean's Mountain project is located on Manitoulin Island in Lake Huron. The land required for the project is under option. The site is zoned to allow power generation, preliminary engineering is well advanced and final environmental permitting is under way. Northland expects the project to qualify under Ontario’s feed-in tariff for renewable energy.
